"Drinking alcohol is very much similar to building a good, strong blazing fire," Kagiso was overheard by his sister Lerato telling his new sweetheart. "You won't get much beyond smoke and confusion if you clutter up a stack of wood, or drink too much too soon - to be blunt; after all, like a good, strong blaze, a solid, sturdy drunkenness requires fresh air, patience and appreciation for the outcome."

It wasn't uncommon for Kagiso to ask Lerato along on his dates, and she really felt a connection to Tammy, and felt Tammy's connection with her brother. Lerato didn't mind, and delighted in having turned out to be an ideal wingperson to her brother.

"Kagiso, you haven't had a drink in five years, and listen to you, swooning over the elixir as though an old love companion, it's so sweet," Lerato teased, though Kagiso, as always, had a swift response.

"Yeah, and this is why we are not on a double date," he coughed in an almost perfect fake cough laced with banterful mockery.

"Please be nicer to your sister, Kaggie? You're a weird fellow, and should be thankful to be hanging with strong, independent, modern women," Tammy sung, almost choral, to near pitch perfection, in her mellifluent tone of speech. "You show bad form, and have forfeited our first kiss to another evening where you are kinder to your sister at all times."

Lerato was mildly irritated by Tammy's speech, though noticed the effect it had had on her brother, who melted on sight. She realised that she had just witnessed a whole new level to his relationship with Tammy, and she could not help but respect her brother's date for having figured him out.

"We were going to kiss tonight?" Kagiso asked. Tammy gave him a look which said that she had a lot more in mind than snogging, as Lerato took the hint and hailed for the cheque.  Kagiso had missed what was happening, having fallen into his usual pensive brood, clearly in mull for a mutually beneficial solution, completely unaware that he was putty in a woman's hand.

"Can we hold hands, as a fair middle ground?" Kagiso asked with a gleeful beam of euphoria, as though having cracked a solution to global warfare.

"After you apologise to Lerato for implying that her wit is the reason why she does not have a date tonight, when you guys share the same every thing, and, after all, you have me, so, there must be somebody for your sister, too, and they are probably here tonight." Tammy said, as she received the bill from Lerato, squeezed in her tip and passed it on to Kagiso, who did much the same before returning it to Lerato, who settled the score.

"You guys are endearing, and our system actually works as it is, let's be cool and go smoke pot?" said Lerato, as they gathered their belongings and made for the exit.

It is said that Destiny will always reveal itself. Destiny has its own timing. As Lerato opened the door leading out into the street, a tall, handsome, dark man with a staff and long dreadlocks entered the establishment.  He looked very much as a black Gandalf would, with the kindest eyes she had ever seen.  Tammy, however, looked as though she had seen a ghost.

"Thabiso?" said Tammy, to everyone's surprise.

"Hey, Tammy. Kagiso, Lerato. Pleasure, pleasure," the wizard known by Tammy as Thabiso sang, and Lerato was certain she had heard the tone before, though could not in the moment recall where or when.  "There has been a leak, and I need your help to clear my name, and it is urgent, as they have sent the Collector to find me" - he broke off, as Tammy buckled up against the door frame moaning "Thabiso, what did you get us into?".

Suddenly, everyone was ushered into Thabiso's RV and driving along a quiet, long road, towards a place neither Lerato or Kagiso had been told about. Kagiso and Tammy were asleep, holding hands in the back bunkbed, so Lerato decided to get some answers from Thabiso.
